COP28 at EXPO City, Dubai – Accessibility Consultancy

A clean, modern logo for COP28 UAE appears against a plain background. On the left, a circular emblem is filled with small green illustrations representing climate and environmental themes—wind turbines, solar panels, trees, water, animals, and people—arranged like a mosaic to symbolize sustainability and global climate action. To the right of the circle, the text “COP28 UAE” is set in a bold, minimalist font: “COP” in solid white, “28” in a thinner white typeface, and “UAE” outlined in green. The overall design feels contemporary, optimistic, and aligned with environmental advocacy.

Direct Access worked with Expo City on the accessibility of the site for COP28 UAE. Managed by Expo City, the City hosted the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference this November. Direct Access provided a team of Access Consultants onsite undertaking international accessibility standard benchmarking for best-in-class accessibility. The Equality Act 2010, BS8300, Part M Building Regulations, Lifetime Homes Standards, and the Wheelchair Housing Design Guide (among various other legislations) sets out clear expectations and legal precedence outlining how building owners must promote the personal independence and comfort of their residents (of which many of are statistically likely to be disabled) by maintaining […]
