With a background in the education sector and a passion for universal design, Nick came to Direct Access after becoming a qualified teacher.

At Manchester Metropolitan University, he gained an education degree in Design and Technology. He then worked in secondary schools and further education colleges in North Wales and North West England teaching Information Technology before spending 10 years completing IT and office refurbishment projects for a local authority.

After spending 13 years working within a university Inclusion department as a Needs Assessor for Disabled Students’ Allowances and providing training and support to staff and students in assistive technology, accessibility, and digital skills, he joined DA as a consultant in 2024.

Nick also volunteers with 4×4 Response Wales to assist local services in times of inclement weather and is a community flood warden.
