Mathew Wilson

Field Service Engineer

With several years of experience in electrical and mechanical engineering, Mathew’s interest in technology and computer software made him a perfect fit for Direct Access’ evolving Innovation and Accessible Media Centre, where he has turned his hand to developing everything from tactile and braille maps to 3D-printed braille busts for museums and parks.

Splitting his workload between research and development at the Innovation Centre and ensuring the delivery of Direct Access’ full product range to clients, including Induction Loop systems, and bespoke Tactile Braille Map Boards, Mathew has been an invaluable member of the Direct Access family since 2023.

Prior to joining our team, Mathew worked in building maintenance for a care home management company, nurturing years of experience working with vulnerable, disabled, and elderly people. Mathew had also worked at a garden centre where the vast majority of employees had disabilities.

Mathew is a passionate fisherman and enjoys walking his many, many dogs.
