An analytical, strategic thinker and problem solver who puts people and the environment at the heart of all he does, Jamie joined the Direct Access team with a wealth of experience in creating environments that achieve a high standard of accessibility – placing prioritization of a quality visitor experience above all else.
He has been the Director of Visitor Engagement for over 10 museums and 35 heritage sites. As an access consultant at Direct Access, he has played an active role in the development of the of the organisation, contributing to strategy and driving continuous improvement of the visitor experience, offering our client’s varied and vibrant recommendations to help them adopt sustainable long-term accessibility practices.
Jamie also previously managed a National Trust urban-fringe estate and its 14 acres of Grade 1 listed gardens, Treasure House, restaurant, shop, 174 acres of woodland, 1200 acres of parkland, which includes 2 tenanted farms, varied and innovative programming, 400,000+ visitors, a variety of special projects and a vibrant community engagement programme, creating an environment which encouraged community confidence, creativity, and accessibility for disabled people.
Since joining Direct Access, Jamie has delivered access audits and consultancy to a variety of sites, including buildings under the jurisdictions of Cumbria County Council and Wychavon County Council.
