Steven Mifsud MBE

Steven is the Founder and President of the award-winning disability accessibility consultancy, Direct Access. Inspired by his own experiences as a deaf cochlear implant user, Steven’s passion for inclusivity led to the creation of Direct Access. In recognition of his efforts to improve accessibility for people with disabilities, he was honored with an MBE in Her Majesty the Queen’s Birthday Honors list in 2021.

Steven has played a pivotal role as the lead Access Consultant on several significant projects, including ADA Transition Plans for the City of Allen and the City of McKinney in Texas, as well as accessibility plans in Vermont for the town of Bethel and DAIL housing programs across the state. Currently, he is coordinating teams to deliver accessibility projects in Ohio, New York, and Arizona. From City Halls to emergency shelters, public transportation, medical and education facilities.

He is often sought as a presenter on accessibility and has recently presented at New York Build, the National Parks and Recreation Association, and the American Public Works Association events.
