Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS) is a local non-profit organization founded in 1979 as a branch of the Arab Family Organization in the Gulf region, aiming to advance the Arab family and develop the social services it needs.
Direct Access undertook Access Appraisals of the washroom refurbishment programme for the Engineering Consultancy master-planners at the Sharjah Humanitarian City. This involved reviewing and commenting on the design proposals leading to an Access Report and Statement which will ensure
accessibility of the site.
SCHS aims at changing society’s attitude towards persons with disabilities and affecting government policies on disability-related issues. It also aspires to pave the way to a bright future for both mentally and physically challenged children, giving them confidence and a chance to live in an equal-opportunity society.
